Dr. Michael Perini is the Director of Academic Affairs at Virginia International University in Fairfax, VA, USA. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Classics and History, summa cum laude, from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2003, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Alpha Theta, as well as a Master of Arts in History from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2006. He completed the requirements for the Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies for Higher Education Administration at George Mason University in 2011. Additionally inducted into Phi Kappa Phi, Michael received his doctorate from the Higher Education Program in 2015, also at George Mason University. Michael's research interests include for-profit educational institutions, librarian theory and identity, distance education, and the exploration of the concepts of public and civic good.
